Limited jurisdiction means that litigants can only bring actions in the lower Courts, where money is concerned, falling within the limits set out under Part 3 of the Courts and Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2013. There are many other matters that can be heard by the lower Courts, but from a commercial perspective the monetary limitations are most relevant, these are:
Circuit Court €15,001 to €75,000
District Court up to €15,000
